{"id":10463,"date":"2025-06-14T18:04:03","date_gmt":"2025-06-14T18:04:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=10463"},"modified":"2025-06-14T18:04:03","modified_gmt":"2025-06-14T18:04:03","slug":"india-distances-itself-from-sco-anti-israel-statement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=10463","title":{"rendered":"India distances itself from SCO anti-Israel statement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>India has distanced itself from a statement issued by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) condemning Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory, saying it did not take part in the discussions that led to the joint remarks.<\/p>\n<p>While India, which maintains a close strategic partnership with Israel, acknowledged concerns over rising tensions in the Middle East, it opted not to endorse the SCO\u2019s collective position, maintaining an independent stance on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Saturday, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that New Delhi\u2019s position, articulated earlier on June 13, \u201cremains the same,\u201d and emphasized that India continues to advocate diplomatic avenues to resolve the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Read More: Iran claims downing of Israeli F-35, says female pilot captured<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge that channels of dialogue and diplomacy be utilized to work towards de-escalation, and it is essential that the international community undertake endeavours in that direction,\u201d the MEA stated.<\/p>\n<p>It also confirmed that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had spoken with his Iranian counterpart, conveying what it described as the international community\u2019s \u201cdeep concern\u201d over recent developments.
