Speaking in an Oklahoma Hall of Fame interview, Gill dismissed the controversy, calling it unnecessary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just laugh when everybody gets so uptight when she goes to football games,\u201d he said, emphasising that Swift\u2019s minimal screen time hardly warrants backlash.<\/p>\n<p>Gill, a 22-time Grammy winner, praised Swift\u2019s charisma and influence, likening her to entertainment icons. \u201cThere\u2019s just a handful of people that have that charisma, that thing. They own a room. Dolly Parton, she owns a room. It\u2019s fascinating to watch. I\u2019m a wallflower,\u201d he said, also comparing Swift\u2019s impact to Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson.<\/p>\n<p>He also pointed out the hypocrisy in how the media and fans react to Swift\u2019s NFL appearances. \u201cHell, they don\u2019t cut away to her as much as they do Jerry Jones at the Dallas Cowboys games \u2014 what\u2019s the big deal?\u201d Gill argued, highlighting how team owners and executives receive similar, if not more, screen time.<\/p>\n<p>To put things into perspective, he referenced a statistic from a recent Chiefs game: \u201cSomebody said they figured it out on one of the games, and she was only on camera the entire game for 44 seconds \u2014 in a three-and-a-half-hour ballgame. You\u2019re uptight about that? Really?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite public scrutiny, Swift and Kelce continue to focus on their relationship.
