{"id":15079,"date":"2025-07-28T18:03:18","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T18:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=15079"},"modified":"2025-07-28T18:03:18","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T18:03:18","slug":"pakistan-us-explore-new-trade-avenues-amid-warming-ties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=15079","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan, US explore new trade avenues amid warming ties"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>United States Charg\u00e9 d&#8217;Affaires\u00a0Elizabeth Horst\u00a0met\u00a0Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad on Monday to discuss economic cooperation and reaffirm the strengthening trajectory of bilateral ties, Radio Pakistan reported.<\/p>\n<p>According to a finance ministry statement, the meeting provided \u201can opportunity to exchange views on matters of mutual interest\u201d and underscored growing collaboration between Pakistan and the US.<\/p>\n<p>Aurangzeb thanked the US for its long-standing support of Pakistan\u2019s economic development, particularly the backing for macroeconomic stability achieved over the past 18 months.<\/p>\n<p>He also recalled his recent visit to Washington, DC, where he held what he described as \u201cproductive meetings\u201d with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said those discussions had contributed to a \u201chealthy momentum in bilateral engagement\u201d. \u201cThe United States remains Pakistan\u2019s largest trading partner,\u201d Aurangzeb said, while expressing Pakistan\u2019s interest in expanding cooperation beyond traditional sectors.<\/p>\n<p>He noted growing potential in information technology, minerals, and agriculture as key areas for mutually beneficial investment and collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>Aurangzeb also briefed the visiting diplomat on Pakistan\u2019s improving macroeconomic indicators, including recent sovereign rating upgrades and renewed investor confidence.
