Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari\u00a0on Monday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was not a political party but a fascist group that seeks to destabilise the country.<\/p>\n

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, she accused PTI of promoting unrest and undermining national interests.<\/p>\n

She claimed that PTI had fled from the Sambrial and Muridke by-elections out of fear of public rejection. \u201cThis group caused the May 9 incidents\u2014an event that must not be forgiven, or it will keep repeating,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Bokhari stressed that only the Supreme Court holds the authority to impose bans but insisted that \u201cto move the country forward, it is essential to rid ourselves of this chaos-spreading party\u201d.<\/p>\n

Bokhari questioned the political legitimacy of PTI, referring to its alleged role in guerrilla-style conspiracies. \u201cIs a group waging guerrilla war and conspiring against Pakistan a political party?\u201d she asked, adding, \u201cThe terrorist group will not be allowed to destroy Pakistan\u2019s law and order.\u201d<\/p>\n

Referring to PTI’s protest planned for August 5, she said no one is ready to accept responsibility for the day. She criticised PTI for calling for processions while remaining silent on national causes.<\/p>\n

Responding to reports of a potential deal for PTI\u2019s founder to leave the country, Bokhari said, \u201cI\u2019ve heard about the deal, but I don\u2019t know for sure\u201d.<\/p>\n

Turning to foreign affairs, she accused PTI chief Imran of advancing American interests, stating, \u201cThe Jewish lobby has relaunched its product; Khan promoted American interests\u201d.<\/p>\n

She ridiculed Imran’s previous stance on independence, saying, \u201cAre we slaves? Is real freedom being promoted through ads? Previously, he asked for freedom from America; now, even his son is demanding freedom\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead of threatening America, now write on vehicles: \u2018Trump, only you are our hope\u2019,\u201d she added mockingly.<\/p>\n

Bokhari stated that even PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur had acknowledged Punjab\u2019s development during a visit to Lahore.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cThey talk of \u2018final calls\u2019, but their protest movements never materialise\u2014protest calls on November 26 and April 9 were both cancelled\u201d.<\/p>\n

She reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to national interest, highlighting Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz\u2019s zero-tolerance policy on sugar hoarding. \u201cMany arrests have been made, and the government will take custody of stockpiled sugar from mills,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
