Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah said schools would remain shut across the city in view of possible downpours.<\/p>\n<p>Senior provincial minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also confirmed the decision, adding that the government\u2019s response teams were fully active during the ongoing rains.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe entire government machinery is operational, and drainage work is under way,\u201d he said, adding,\u00a0\u201cThe public\u2019s lives and safety are the top priority. PAF Faisal Base (Shahrah-e-Faisal) recorded 114mm.<\/p>\n<p>Other parts of the city also witnessed significant downpours, including Surjani Town (111mm) and North Karachi (108mm). Korangi saw nearly 97mm, while Nazimabad logged 92mm. Areas such as Orangi Town (66mm), Gulshan-e-Maymar (75mm), and PAF Masroor Base (75mm) also experienced heavy showers.<\/p>\n<p>Read More: Seven killed as heavy rain paralyses Karachi<\/p>\n<p>On the directives of Mayor Murtaza Wahab, a rain emergency has been enforced across Karachi, with all teams placed on high alert to respond to urban flooding, traffic disruptions, and other rain-related incidents.<\/p>\n<p>Sindh Chief Minister\u00a0Murad Ali Shah has directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert during the ongoing monsoon rains.
