{"id":17209,"date":"2025-08-22T00:05:03","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T00:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=17209"},"modified":"2025-08-22T00:05:03","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T00:05:03","slug":"bail-does-not-mean-acquittal-says-tarar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=17209","title":{"rendered":"Bail does not mean acquittal, says Tarar"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Thursday that bail for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan did not mean his acquittal, as he remained involved in the \u00a3190 million mega corruption case.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to PTI leaders&#8217; press conference, Tarar said the \u00a3190m case was the biggest corruption scandal in the country&#8217;s history. He stated that Imran Khan was handed a 14-year prison sentence after a transparent trial based on evidence.<\/p>\n<p>The PTI founder, he added, failed to explain before the court where billions of rupees were spent.<\/p>\n<p>Tarar alleged that instead of providing evidence, the PTI resorted to rhetoric about the &#8220;State of Madina,&#8221; using religion and an &#8220;Islamic touch&#8221; as a shield.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the billions that should have been deposited into the government&#8217;s account were instead adjusted under fines. He questioned why Imran Khan and his wife established the Al-Qadir University Trust, when they claimed their record was clean.<\/p>\n<p>According to the information minister, it had been proven that approval was obtained from the federal cabinet through a sealed envelope, while ministers who raised questions about the matter were ignored.<\/p>\n<p>Tarar said that this sealed-envelope&#8217;s approval facilitated the \u00a3190m scam.
