He defended Baldoni, calling him a \u201csweet, nice guy,\u201d and alleged that Lively and Reynolds never expected the actor-director to fight back.<\/p>\n<p>The dispute began when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment during the film\u2019s production. Her complaint led to a New York Times report that Baldoni later sued for libel, seeking $250 million. Lively then countersued Baldoni and others for retaliation. Baldoni escalated the fight by suing Lively and Reynolds for $400 million, alleging civil extortion and defamation.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the controversy, Reynolds was accused of mocking Baldoni in Deadpool &amp; Wolverine by creating the Nicepool character, which allegedly satirizes Baldoni\u2019s public image.
