Greg Norman has officially signed off from LIV Golf, saying he “changed the game globally” while teasing an “exciting next adventure”.<\/p>\n

The Australian was the public face of the Saudi-backed breakaway tour since its inception in 2022, luring a slew of golf’s elite stars with big-money deals including Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, and Jon Rahm.<\/p>\n

But he was also a polarising figure in a rift with the established PGA Tour, which fractured the game and divided players and fans.<\/p>\n

He was replaced as chief executive by Scott O’Neill in January.<\/p>\n

Former world number one Norman remained involved with the tour, but in a statement on Instagram late Thursday said his time was now up.<\/p>\n

“After four unforgettable years, I have officially closed out my time with LIV Golf, and reflecting with nothing but gratitude, pride and achievement,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Together, we built a movement that changed the game globally. We created opportunities for both players and fans and broaden the ecosystem of golf.”<\/p>\n

“My commitment to do what was and still is, the right thing for golf, the players and fans never wavered.”<\/p>\n

Norman did not give details of his future plans, but the 70-year-old suggested he was not done yet.<\/p>\n

“As for what’s next … stay tuned!” he said. “Exciting times ahead. Onward to the next adventure.”<\/p>\n
