{"id":1911,"date":"2026-09-30T10:03:44","date_gmt":"2026-09-30T05:03:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=1911"},"modified":"2026-09-30T10:03:44","modified_gmt":"2026-09-30T05:03:44","slug":"trump-renames-ai-as-super-intelligence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=1911","title":{"rendered":"Trump renames AI as \u2018super intelligence\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>US President Donald Trump has ordered the federal government to replace the terms \u201cartificial intelligence\u201d and \u201cAI\u201d with \u201csuper intelligence\u201d and \u201cSI\u201d in official executive branch communications.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under an executive order signed on Tuesday, federal departments and agencies have been directed to use \u201csuper intelligence\u201d and \u201cSI\u201d in official correspondence, public communications, policy documents and other non-statutory materials, while discontinuing use of \u201cartificial intelligence\u201d and \u201cAI\u201d in those documents.<\/p>\n<p>The order also tasks the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology with developing a proposed federal definition of \u201csuper intelligence\u201d and \u201cSI\u201d that reflects the \u201ccontinuously advancing technological frontier.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The official has further been directed to identify any additional executive actions required to implement the proposed definition.<\/p>\n<p>The White House said the terminology change is intended to reflect the \u201cimmense opportunity\u201d presented by emerging technologies.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration said the United States is the world leader in super intelligence and should use terminology that reflects the capabilities and potential of technologies under development.<\/p>\n<p>It also described the US as the birthplace of artificial intelligence, saying the country has led the development and deployment of the technology for more than 70 years since AI emerged as a field of research.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>US President Donald Trump has ordered the federal government to replace the terms \u201cartificial intelligence\u201d and \u201cAI\u201d with \u201csuper intelligence\u201d and \u201cSI\u201d in official executive branch communications.
