Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday proposed the creation of an Arab-Islamic task force to monitor the Israel\u2019s actions in the region and adopt \u201ceffective deterrent and offensive measures in a synchronised manner to ward off Israeli expansionist designs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking at the preparatory ministerial meeting of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, Dar said, \u201cIsrael should not be allowed to get away with attacking Islamic countries and killing people with impunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said Israel must be held accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity, urging Arab and Islamic states to take stronger collective action.<\/p>\n

Dar urged members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to push for the suspension of Israel\u2019s United Nations membership, calling such a move a \u201cclear message of seriousness by Ummah.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that states should also consider \u201cimplementing additional punitive measures\u201d to reinforce accountability and deter further violations of international law.<\/p>\n

The deputy prime minister pressed the UN Security Council to demand \u201can immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire,\u201d the release of hostages and an exchange of Palestinian prisoners.<\/p>\n

He also called for ensuring \u201cunfettered, sustained and secure humanitarian access to all civilians in need, and the protection of aid workers, medical teams and UN personnel in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dar further urged the revival of \u201ca genuine and time-bound political process\u201d to achieve a just, comprehensive and lasting two-state solution in line with international law and UN and OIC resolutions.<\/p>\n

Reaffirming Pakistan\u2019s position, he said Islamabad \u201cwill continue to work with the OIC and Arab partners to mobilise global support\u201d for peace in the region.<\/p>\n

On the sidelines of the Arab-Islamic Summit\u2019s preparatory meeting in Doha, Dar also met OIC\u00a0Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha.<\/p>\n

The two leaders condemned Israeli strikes on Qatar and other states in the region, calling them \u201cclear violations of sovereignty and international law,\u201d according to a statement from Pakistan\u2019s Foreign Ministry.<\/p>\n

Dar thanked the OIC chief for \u201csteering OIC\u2019s constructive role in forging unity and solidarity within the Ummah\u201d and said coordination among member states was critical at a time of escalating regional tensions.<\/p>\n

Both sides \u201cunderscored the urgency for coordinating a unified pan-Islamic response to Israeli aggression in these challenging times,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

They also reaffirmed \u201ctheir unwavering support for the Palestinian cause\u201d and stressed the importance of advancing regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n

Deputy PM met his counterparts from Uzbekistan, Bangladesh and Malaysia on the sidelines of the Arab-Islamic Summit\u2019s preparatory meeting.<\/p>\n

Dar and Uzbekistan\u2019s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov \u201cdeplored Israeli strikes on Qatar and other states in the region as clear violations of sovereignty and international law,\u201d Foreign Ministry said. They reaffirmed support for the Palestinian cause and stressed the urgent need to advance regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n

In a separate pull-aside meeting with Bangladesh\u2019s Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, Dar condemned Israeli strikes on Muslim nations and underlined the importance of unity across the Muslim Ummah.<\/p>\n

Dar also met Malaysia\u2019s Foreign Minister Dato\u2019 Seri Mohamad Hasan. The two ministers \u201cstrongly condemned Israeli strikes on Qatar and other Muslim nations as gross violations of sovereignty and international law\u201d and welcomed the upcoming Arab-Islamic Summit as \u201ctimely and essential for collective action at this critical juncture.\u201d<\/p>\n
