{"id":1968,"date":"2026-10-01T11:03:44","date_gmt":"2026-10-01T06:03:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=1968"},"modified":"2026-10-01T11:03:44","modified_gmt":"2026-10-01T06:03:44","slug":"oil-prices-fall-as-gulf-exports-recover-us-stocks-rise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=1968","title":{"rendered":"Oil prices fall as Gulf exports recover, US stocks rise"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Oil prices fell 1% on Thursday as recovering crude exports from the Gulf and a \u200bsurprise rise in US inventories eased supply concerns.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the same time, investors weighed renewed US-Iranian diplomatic efforts to end their conflict in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>Brent crude futures fell 1.1% to $96.92 a barrel, and US West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 1.4% to $89.18 a barrel.<\/p>\n<p>Both benchmarks rose about $1 \u200ba barrel on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Brent recorded a monthly gain of around 14% in \u200bSeptember, its biggest since July, while WTI increased by about 5% on \u2060the month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOil\u2019s near-term bias remains negative as recovering shipments from the Gulf region, resumed \u200bSaudi exports through Yanbu and a buildup in US inventories ease supply concerns,\u201d said Sugandha \u200bSachdeva, founder of SS WealthStreet, a New Delhi-based research firm.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link--external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/saudi-resumes-yanbu-oil-loading-after-pipeline-restart-2026-09-29\/\">resumed<\/a> oil tanker loadings from Yanbu, Reuters reported on Tuesday, after earlier restarting operations on its East-West Pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, US crude inventories rose by 922,000 barrels \u200bto 427.3 million barrels in the week ended September 25, the Energy Information Administration \u200bsaid, compared with expectations in a Reuters poll for a 264,000-barrel draw.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRenewed US-Iran diplomatic engagement could further \u200creduce \u2060the geopolitical risk premium, although a breakthrough remains uncertain,\u201d Sachdeva said.<\/p>\n<p>Iran said on Wednesday it had <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link--external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/iran-appeals-us-voters-american-troops-leave-iraq-2026-09-30\/\">received<\/a> a US response to its latest proposal to resurrect the collapsed ceasefire in the Gulf.<\/p>\n<p>US President <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link--external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a> denied reports by Axios and CNN, however, that cited US officials \u200bas saying he was \u200bwilling to give \u2060Iran sanctions relief and release frozen Iranian funds in return for \u201cconcrete\u201d steps by Tehran on its nuclear programme.<\/p>\n<p>Goldman Sachs estimates Gulf oil \u200bexports, including \u201cdark exports\u201d involving ships operating with their location transponders turned \u200boff, have \u2060recovered to 23.3 million barrels per day over the last week, in line with their 2025 average, as exports doubled in September, it said in a note on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Also, OPEC+ oil-producing countries are likely to keep their oil production targets steady for December when they meet on Sunday, two people with knowledge of the matter told Reuters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oil prices fell 1% on Thursday as recovering crude exports from the Gulf and a \u200bsurprise rise in US inventories eased supply concerns.
