{"id":2106,"date":"2026-10-03T16:03:53","date_gmt":"2026-10-03T11:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=2106"},"modified":"2026-10-03T16:03:53","modified_gmt":"2026-10-03T11:03:53","slug":"pti-backs-continued-talks-with-govt-considers-shifting-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=2106","title":{"rendered":"PTI backs continued talks with govt, considers shifting march"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>A meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political and core committee discussed ongoing negotiations with the government and the party\u2019s planned long march on October 4, with a majority of members supporting the continuation of talks, sources said on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan briefed participants on the negotiations, while the committees also discussed various proposals for shaping the opposition\u2019s strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Participants suggested that if there was positive progress in the talks, the date of the long march could be pushed back rather than the protest being cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals to postpone or call off the October 4 march were also discussed.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting also discussed a proposal for PTI founder Imran Khan to meet Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Raja Nasir Abbas. Some members said such a meeting could help find a way forward.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources, PTI leader Salman Akram Raja expressed concern that there appeared to be a complete plan to impose an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n<p>Some members suggested that if an emergency was imposed, the party should consider resigning from the national and provincial assemblies.<\/p>\n<p>Participants also expressed concern over media statements by Rana Sanaullah and Sherry Rehman, noting that party leaders had agreed to avoid issuing statements to the media during the negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting also reviewed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi\u2019s briefing on terrorism during the negotiations and his statements regarding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political and core committee discussed ongoing negotiations with the government and the party\u2019s planned long march on October 4, with a majority of members supporting the continuation of talks, sources said on Saturday.
