Oil is right now lower, and it\u2019s been lower than it was under the Biden administration,\u201d Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a rally in Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Iran had \u201cvirtually given up any plans of a nuclear weapon\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has long denied US and Israeli allegations that it is seeking to develop nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n<p>President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated that position during his visit to New York last month for the UN General Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Pezeshkian said Iran was not seeking nuclear weapons because they were prohibited under religious doctrine, and offered to dilute its enriched uranium stockpiles under international verification.<\/p>\n<p>Tehran has maintained, however, that it will not compromise on its civilian nuclear programme or make structural concessions unless Washington lifts economic sanctions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>US President Donald Trump said that Iran had \u201cvirtually given up\u201d plans to develop a nuclear weapon, one of his administration\u2019s key objectives in its eight-month war with Tehran.
