The move, officials say, is aimed at making power distribution more transparent, secure, and consumer-friendly.<\/p>\n<p>What it means for consumers<\/p>\n<p>From now on, anyone applying for a new electricity connection, or reconnecting after a disconnection, will have to go through biometric verification. The measure is designed to eliminate bogus and unauthorised connections, tighten accountability, and prevent fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Officials believe the step will not only streamline service delivery but also help build trust between consumers and the utility provider.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the ceremony, Engineer Khalid Mehmood stressed the need for upgrading systems to meet growing consumer demands. \u201cThis partnership with NADRA Technologies will not only improve operational efficiency but also reinforce public trust in our services,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>NTL CEO Umar Khan Azad echoed the sentiment, highlighting NADRA\u2019s role in applying secure technology to governance. \u201cSecure identity verification is the cornerstone of transparent governance, and we are proud to support IESCO in this transformative journey,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement was signed at IESCO\u2019s head office by IESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood and NTL Chief Executive Officer Umar Khan Azad.
