President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Pakistan Peoples Party\u00a0Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday extended warm greetings to the Hindu community in Pakistan and across the world on the occasion of Diwali \u2014 the festival of lights symbolising the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.<\/p>\n

In his message, President Zardari said the festival reminded everyone of the \u201cuniversal values of peace, compassion and harmony that are shared across faiths.\u201d He added that these values reflected the \u201cprinciples of mutual respect and coexistence that Islam itself upholds.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights and complete freedom of religion to all citizens,\u201d he said, reaffirming the state\u2019s commitment to a society \u201cwhere people of every faith live together in dignity and mutual respect.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president also paid tribute to the Hindu community\u2019s contributions to Pakistan\u2019s \u201csocial, cultural, and economic fabric,\u201d noting their role in education, commerce, and public service. \u201cMay the light of Diwali bring joy to your homes and strengthen the bonds that unite us as one nation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his best wishes, reiterating his government\u2019s commitment to ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all communities, regardless of belief.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we celebrate Diwali, let us collectively look toward a future filled with positivity and unity,\u201d he said, describing Pakistan\u2019s diversity as \u201ca true source of national strength.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartfelt greetings to our Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world.<\/p>\n

He lauded the \u201cinvaluable contributions\u201d of the Hindu community in Pakistan\u2019s social, economic, and political spheres, saying they continued to strengthen the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government remains committed to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah\u2019s vision of a Pakistan where all citizens enjoy equality and freedom, regardless of religion, race or caste,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Alkhidmat Pakistan also distributed ration packages in Tando Adam, Ghotki, and other areas across the country.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also extended warm greetings, saying Diwali reminded everyone that \u201clight always triumphs over darkness, and truth, peace, and love prevail over hate and division.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the PPP, following the vision of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, remained dedicated to building \u201ca progressive and inclusive Pakistan where all faiths coexist in dignity and harmony.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bilawal lauded the Hindu community\u2019s \u201cinvaluable contributions to Pakistan\u2019s cultural and national life\u201d and urged all citizens to embrace Diwali\u2019s true spirit of compassion, unity, and hope.<\/p>\n
