Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, the show follows the lives of Los Angeles first responders\u2014police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers\u2014as they tackle high-stakes emergencies and personal challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The ensemble cast includes Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, and Gavin McHugh.<\/p>\n<p>The renewal marks the latest chapter in the show\u2019s journey, which began in 2018 on Fox. 9-1-1 ran for six seasons on the network before being canceled. Disney-owned ABC rescued the 20th Television series, picking it up for a seventh season, which premiered in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Now in its eighth season\u2014and second on ABC\u2014the series continues to be a key player in the network\u2019s lineup. It currently ranks second in total viewership and holds the top spot among adults 18-49 in Live+Same Day ratings.<\/p>\n<p>Next season, 9-1-1 will be joined by its spinoff 9-1-1: Nashville, which ABC ordered straight to series last month. Chris O\u2019Donnell will star as Captain Don Sharpe, a firehouse leader and rodeo rider balancing family life with hidden secrets.<\/p>\n<p>Season 8 has been anything but quiet.
