{"id":2715,"date":"2026-10-15T12:03:47","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T07:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=2715"},"modified":"2026-10-15T12:03:47","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T07:03:47","slug":"saudi-aramco-headquarters-suffered-extensive-damage-in-houthi-attack-sources-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=2715","title":{"rendered":"Saudi Aramco headquarters suffered extensive damage in Houthi attack, sources say"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Oil giant Saudi Aramco\u2019s headquarters in Dhahran suffered extensive damage in an \u200battack on Tuesday, with a fire spreading across \u200cseveral floors, three people with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Operations at the complex in eastern Saudi Arabia have continued normally \u200bbut some employees have been asked to work \u200bfrom home, according to two of the people.<\/p>\n<p>A \u2060fourth person said some functions had been shifted to \u200bglobal offices, adding that the fire was still burning into \u200bthe early hours of Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The facility hosts an operations centre which helps the world\u2019s largest oil company oversee onshore and offshore oil \u200brigs, refineries, export terminals and thousands of kilometres of \u200bpipeline.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia\u2019s energy ministry <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link--external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/saudi-led-coalition-orders-evacuation-yemen-oil-facility-sanaa-ahead-operation-2026-10-13\/\">said<\/a> in a statement that Tuesday night\u2019s attack, \u200cwhich \u2060came as fighting between Yemen\u2019s Iran-allied Houthis and the kingdom intensified, had caused a limited fire.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the sources said a fire started on the ninth floor of the \u200bsouth wing \u200bof the \u2060office block, and spread between the sixth and 10th floors.<\/p>\n<p>Another source added that the top \u200bthree floors of building, where the office \u200bof \u2060Aramco CEO Amin Nasser is located, were severely damaged, with part of the ceiling caved in and windows and doors \u2060blown \u200bout.<\/p>\n<p>Aramco did not immediately reply to \u200ba Reuters request for comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oil giant Saudi Aramco\u2019s headquarters in Dhahran suffered extensive damage in an \u200battack on Tuesday, with a fire spreading across \u200cseveral floors, three people with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
