{"id":2845,"date":"2025-04-05T18:04:41","date_gmt":"2025-04-05T18:04:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=2845"},"modified":"2025-04-05T18:04:41","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T18:04:41","slug":"perry-greene-apologises-after-islamophobic-tirade-at-muslim-women-in-georgia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=2845","title":{"rendered":"Perry Greene apologises after Islamophobic tirade at Muslim women in Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The ex-husband of US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has publicly apologised after being filmed verbally harassing a group of Muslim women at a shopping centre in Alpharetta, Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Perry Greene issued the apology during a press conference on Friday, days after footage surfaced showing him directing Islamophobic abuse at the group as they prayed in a car park to mark the end of Ramadan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just wanted them to know that I humbly apologise to them because nobody should be treated that way,\u201d Greene said, after attending a prayer event with Muslim community leaders. \u201cThat\u2019s not the right way for us to treat anybody with any differences. Hopefully they\u2019ll find it in their hearts to forgive me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred last Sunday as the women laid down a prayer rug in an empty parking space at the Avalon shopping centre before going inside to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.<\/p>\n<p>According to the group, Greene first walked by and hurled profanities at them.
