{"id":2858,"date":"2026-10-17T19:04:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-17T14:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=2858"},"modified":"2026-10-17T19:04:12","modified_gmt":"2026-10-17T14:04:12","slug":"iran-backs-political-process-to-resolve-saudi-houthi-conflict-fm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=2858","title":{"rendered":"Iran backs &#8216;political process&#8217; to resolve Saudi-Houthi conflict: FM"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that Tehran supports a \u201cpolitical process\u201d to resolve the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen\u2019s Iran-backed Houthis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Houthis have repeatedly attacked Saudi targets, including energy facilities and Riyadh\u2019s international airport, where 13 people were killed in a major attack last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe support an inclusive and comprehensive political process as the only practical and sustainable way to resolve the issue,\u201d Araghchi said in a speech at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Baghdad.<\/p>\n<p>Araghchi repeated Iran\u2019s offer to mediate between the two sides. Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh previously said Riyadh has not responded to Iran\u2019s overture.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Iran denied having anything to do with the Houthi attacks, after Saudi Arabia accused Tehran of encouraging the group\u2019s escalation.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, Araghchi also said \u201ceither we build security together, or we will endure insecurity together,\u201d adding that Tehran was willing \u201cto cooperate with all its brothers and neighbours to achieve the first option\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Houthis and Hezbollah in Lebanon are part of Iran\u2019s \u201cAxis of Resistance\u201d against Israel and the United States, which also includes armed groups in Iraq.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that Tehran supports a \u201cpolitical process\u201d to resolve the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen\u2019s Iran-backed Houthis.
