The United States has resumed providing Ukraine critical intelligence to help it defend against Russian missile strikes, after a brief pause, Ukrainian President \u200bVolodymyr Zelenskiy said in comments published on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ukraine has relied on US \u200cintelligence to spot the fast-moving ballistic missiles that Russia has fired in waves at its cities.<\/p>\n

US President Donald Trump had said earlier this week that Washington was still sharing intelligence, although Ukrainian officials said some \u200bRussian strikes had occurred without warning.<\/p>\n

Speaking to NBC\u2019s Meet the Press, Zelenskiy said \u200bintelligence-sharing had been interrupted but later \u201cde-blocked.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very thankful for this,\u201d he \u2060said. \u201cNow it works.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Zelenskiy said other US actions, such as signing a deal to import \u200bRussian diesel and waiving sanctions on Russia<\/a> that had been slated to take effect this week, \u200bwill hurt Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the United States will officially take the side of Russia, of course if these two countries will be together, of course we will not prevail, and we will not be able to \u200bstand,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Over the past week, a widening rift<\/a> between Trump and Zelenskiy has sparked \u200bconcerns that their tumultuous relationship could lead to even worse outcomes for Kyiv.<\/p>\n

Zelensky told NBC that he \u200chopes \u2060Trump will remain an ally of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to trust him, and I hope that he will change his decisions,\u201d Zelenskiy said. \u201cBecause I think that it\u2019s all mistakes and it will not help us. And it will not help the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a Truth Social post \u200bon Sunday afternoon, Trump \u200bwrote that his decision-making \u2060was aimed at avoiding anything \u201cthat will drive, foolishly, Russia away from the bargaining table.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ukraine gets US help that Russia does not receive, \u200bUS Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told NBC, citing intelligence-sharing and the \u200bprovision of US \u2060munitions to other countries for resale to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

But Bessent, speaking with \u201cMeet the Press\u201d after it aired Zelenskiy\u2019s interview, did not directly answer when asked multiple times whether the United States views \u2060Ukraine as \u200ban ally.<\/p>\n
