{"id":3032,"date":"2026-10-21T09:04:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-21T04:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3032"},"modified":"2026-10-21T09:04:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-21T04:04:00","slug":"suspect-in-orphaned-boys-death-killed-in-encounter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3032","title":{"rendered":"Suspect in orphaned boy\u2019s death killed in &#8216;encounter&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Touqeer Nazir, the suspect accused of running over and killing 15-year-old orphan Waseem Abbas in Multan, was killed in an alleged police encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Bahawalpur, sources said on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Touqeer had been granted four days\u2019 physical remand by a judicial magistrate following his arrest in connection with Waseem\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>However, CCD officials said he had escaped from custody.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CCD, officers attempted to stop two motorcycle riders on Bahawalpur\u2019s Eastern Bypass in the early hours of Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects allegedly opened fire on the police, triggering an exchange of gunfire in which Touqeer was killed by shots fired by his own accomplice.<\/p>\n<p>The second suspect fled the scene while firing, and teams have been deployed to arrest him.<\/p>\n<p>Waseem was run over by Touqeer\u2019s car a day earlier.
