{"id":3104,"date":"2026-10-22T12:03:46","date_gmt":"2026-10-22T07:03:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3104"},"modified":"2026-10-22T12:03:46","modified_gmt":"2026-10-22T07:03:46","slug":"kundi-delegates-arrest-detention-powers-to-deputy-commissioners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3104","title":{"rendered":"Kundi delegates arrest, detention powers to deputy commissioners"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has delegated powers to arrest and detain persons under section 3(1) of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance, 1960, to all Deputy Commissioners of the province in the wake of safety concerns.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to an official notification, the relevant deputy commissioner will take immediate action upon receiving a case from the district police officer (DPO), with the move aimed at ensuring timely preventive measures at the district level and reducing administrative delays.<\/p>\n<p>Kundi directed deputy commissioners to exercise the powers in accordance with the Constitution and law and maintain effective coordination with law enforcement agencies.
