{"id":3113,"date":"2026-10-22T13:03:48","date_gmt":"2026-10-22T08:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3113"},"modified":"2026-10-22T13:03:48","modified_gmt":"2026-10-22T08:03:48","slug":"maryam-gives-police-four-weeks-to-improve-law-and-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3113","title":{"rendered":"Maryam gives police four weeks to improve law and order"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given police four weeks to improve law and order, including crimes against women and children, warning that officials who fail to deliver will be removed from their posts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chairing a special meeting on security in Lahore on Thursday, she expressed concern over the situation in Rawalpindi Division and ordered province-wide action against illegal weapons, drug trafficking and wheat smuggling, particularly in border districts.<\/p>\n<p>Maryam said criminal intimidation and lawlessness would not be tolerated and directed authorities to intensify anti-corruption efforts within the police, take action against officers involved in wrongdoing and ensure a ban on spy devices, including camera-equipped glasses.<\/p>\n<p>She also ordered increased police patrolling across Punjab, action against speeding and measures to identify crime hotspots and dismantle criminal networks.<\/p>\n<p>Expressing dissatisfaction with traffic management, the chief minister called for improved arrangements and directed that Lahore\u2019s Dolphin Force be provided with motorcycles and other facilities for patrolling.<\/p>\n<p>The chief minister was also briefed on serious crimes, including the incident in Multan wherein an orphan teen was run over by a suspect.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was later killed in an alleged police encounter.<\/p>\n<p>Punjab\u2019s inspector general of police said the overall crime rate in the province showed a declining trend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given police four weeks to improve law and order, including crimes against women and children, warning that officials who fail to deliver will be removed from their posts.
