{"id":3323,"date":"2026-10-26T16:03:45","date_gmt":"2026-10-26T11:03:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3323"},"modified":"2026-10-26T16:03:45","modified_gmt":"2026-10-26T11:03:45","slug":"lhc-disposes-of-petition-seeking-release-of-imran-khans-sisters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3323","title":{"rendered":"LHC disposes of petition seeking release of Imran Khan\u2019s sisters"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>The Lahore High Court on Monday disposed of a petition seeking the release of PTI founder Imran Khan\u2019s three sisters, Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, after being informed that the Punjab government had extended their detention for another 30 days.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justice Abher Gul Khan heard the petition filed by Shahrez, seeking the recovery and production of the three women before the court.<\/p>\n<p>The government\u2019s lawyer, Farukh Lodhi, submitted the home secretary\u2019s report, which stated that the sisters\u2019 detention had been extended for a further 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>The court was also told that their detention had been extended on October 7.<\/p>\n<p>The petitioner\u2019s counsel, Rana Mudassar Umar, requested that the three women be produced before the court.<\/p>\n<p>The court observed that the detention notification had been issued by the deputy commissioner, who had not been made a party to the petition.<\/p>\n<p>It said the court could not issue an order beyond the scope of the petition.<\/p>\n<p>The Lahore High Court disposed of the petition in light of the Home Secretary\u2019s report.<\/p>\n<p>The Punjab home secretary and the superintendent of Kot Lakhpat Jail appeared before the court during the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Uzma Khan\u2019s husband and Aleema Khan\u2019s son were also present.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lahore High Court on Monday disposed of a petition seeking the release of PTI founder Imran Khan\u2019s three sisters, Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, after being informed that the Punjab government had extended their detention for another 30 days.
