It has restricted transit to try to gain leverage over \u200bWashington, while disrupting oil flows from Arab Gulf oil producers, especially to their customers in Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The authority said on X that Sinokor vessels had \u200bcommitted the highest number of crossing violations in the strait \u200bover the past three months, and \u201cappropriate actions\u201d had been taken against at least \u200cseven \u2060of them.<\/p>\n<p>Sinokor did not immediately comment on the authority\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n<p>Ships owned by Sinokor were previously included on a list issued by Iran in August of 45 tankers that it said had broken \u200bits rules for \u200bcrossing the \u2060Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>In response to Iranian attacks, the United States also imposed a naval blockade against \u200bships linked to the Islamic Republic in the \u200bstrait.<\/p>\n<p>While the \u2060blockade has all but choked off Iranian exports, Gulf producers have adapted to attacks on shipping by relying on so-called dark \u2060transits \u2014 \u200bswitching off tankers\u2019 tracking systems to evade \u200bdetection \u2014 to protect the oil flows that underpin their economies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iran\u2019s \u200bPersian Gulf Strait Authority, a body set up by \u200cTehran to manage passage requests in the Strait of Hormuz, said on Tuesday that all vessels belonging to South Korean shipping company Sinokor would face \u201clegal \u200baction\u201d starting on November 1.
