{"id":3433,"date":"2025-04-11T09:04:42","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T09:04:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3433"},"modified":"2025-04-11T09:04:42","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T09:04:42","slug":"oscar-piastri-backs-mclaren-to-stay-strong-through-f1-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3433","title":{"rendered":"Oscar Piastri backs McLaren to stay strong through F1 season"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Oscar Piastri has dismissed concerns that McLaren will be hindered by upcoming Formula One regulation changes and expressed confidence in the team&#8217;s ability to remain competitive throughout the season.<\/p>\n<p>Formula One will introduce stricter front wing load tests starting from the Spanish Grand Prix on 1 June, in a move aimed at limiting flexing components. The change follows a similar clampdown on rear wings.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull principal Christian Horner suggested in Japan last week that the revision could impact team performance. &#8220;We have a big regulation change coming at race nine. How is that going to affect the run of play?&#8221; he told Sky Sports.<\/p>\n<p>Piastri, however, was unfazed. Speaking ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Australian driver said he doubted the rule shift would disrupt McLaren\u2019s current momentum.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m pretty confident we\u2019ll be strong all year,&#8221; said Piastri. &#8220;I don\u2019t think it\u2019ll change too much. Piastri, who won in China following Norris\u2019 win in Australia, believes McLaren&#8217;s car philosophy remains sound.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If I had to pick out of all 10 cars on the grid right now, I&#8217;d still pretty happily be choosing ours,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Piastri also cast doubt on the stability within Red Bull, where Verstappen is already on his second teammate of the season. Liam Lawson returned to Racing Bulls after a brief stint, with Yuki Tsunoda switching in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Clearly the car looks pretty difficult. We\u2019ve seen that with Liam.
