US President Donald Trump<\/a> on Thursday cancelled planned weekend campaign stops in Kansas and Iowa, and his allies said \u200bhe would instead phone in to rallies nationwide after four weeks \u200cof travel to boost Republicans\u2019 election chances.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trump told reporters he did not \u201cfeel like I have to go to Kansas,\u201d a Midwestern state where Senator Roger Marshall, a fellow Republican, is \u200bin an unexpectedly competitive race<\/a> with Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is doing very \u200bwell,\u201d Trump said of Marshall. \u201cWe are going to have a strong \u2060Tuesday night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later on Thursday, the Republican National Committee said in a statement that \u200bit would also cancel a planned rally in Iowa, home to several competitive \u200bcongressional races.<\/p>\n

The cancelled in-person rallies were set for Salina, Kansas, on Saturday, and Dubuque, Iowa, on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Since October 1, Trump has hosted 25 rallies in 19 states, often speaking for his \u200bparty in rural areas of Republican-friendly states.<\/p>\n

Tuesday\u2019s midterm elections will determine whether \u200bRepublicans retain narrow control of the US Senate and House of Representatives.<\/p>\n

MAGA Inc., a campaign funding \u200cgroup \u2060aligned with Trump, said on Thursday it would host a series of \u201ctele-rallies\u201d with the president in at least 19 states, including Kansas and Iowa, before Election Day.<\/p>\n

The president is still expected to travel to rallies in several states before Tuesday\u2019s \u200belection, including in \u200bFlorida on Friday.<\/p>\n

Trump \u2060has noted that his recent series of more than hour-long campaign speeches has been challenging. Sounding hoarse in Mississippi on \u200bMonday, Trump said, \u201cGod didn\u2019t make your vocal cords to do \u200ba rally \u2060every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Thursday, after campaigning for Senator Darline Graham in South Carolina, Trump ridiculed a Reuters reporter who asked how he felt after weeks of rallies and \u2060whether he \u200bwas sick of travelling.<\/p>\n
