The Pakistan Army has destroyed multiple Afghan Taliban posts and military installations in a retaliatory operation following unprovoked firing and shelling in Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, security sources said on Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the sources, the Afghan Taliban regime targeted a residential area along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on October 27, killing one civilian and injuring five other members of the same family after a shell struck their house.<\/p>\n

The attack sparked anger among local residents, who condemned the targeting of civilians.<\/p>\n

In response, the Pakistan Army launched an effective retaliatory operation, using heavy weapons to target multiple Afghan Taliban posts and military installations in areas along the border adjoining South Waziristan and Parachinar, security sources said.<\/p>\n

The action forced Afghan Taliban personnel to abandon their posts and flee, while reports also indicated that several of their personnel were killed.<\/p>\n

Security sources said the response was aimed at countering the aggression and protecting Pakistan\u2019s territorial integrity and civilian population.<\/p>\n

They reiterated that the country\u2019s defence and national security were non-negotiable and that security forces remained committed to responding effectively to any aggression.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Five drones intercepted in Balochistan<\/h3>\n

Separately, security forces foiled an attempted drone attack on a security checkpoint in Kharan district of Balochistan.<\/p>\n

According to security sources, militants belonging to the terrorist organisation Fitna al Hindustan attempted to target a security forces checkpoint in the Albat area using five drones.<\/p>\n

However, security personnel detected the threat and destroyed all five drones before they could reach their target.<\/p>\n

No casualties or property damage were reported due to the timely response, the sources said.<\/p>\n
