Israeli strikes killed at least three Palestinians and wounded several others in the Gaza Strip on Monday, the \u200bterritory\u2019s health officials said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Medics said two people were killed \u200cand six others wounded in two separate airstrikes in Khan Younis, south of the enclave, while a third person was killed in an Israeli \u200bairstrike in the town of Al-Mussadar.<\/p>\n

The Israeli military didn\u2019t \u200bimmediately comment on any of the attacks.<\/p>\n

Israel, which says \u2060the Hamas militant group has been rearming and launching attacks \u200bin violation of a year-old ceasefire, has stepped up strikes on \u200bthe group in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

Hamas has denied trying to carry out attacks or rebuild its arsenal and accuses Israel of undermining the Gaza peace \u200bdeal.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s US-brokered ceasefire calls for eventual reconstruction of the \u200bterritory.<\/p>\n

But little progress has been made as negotiators have failed to agree \u200con \u2060terms for Hamas to disarm or Israel to withdraw its troops, who control about two-thirds of the territory where they have ordered residents out.<\/p>\n

Nearly all of the more than 2 million \u200bresidents live in \u200bthe remaining third \u2060of the enclave among war ruins, mostly in makeshift tents and damaged buildings, still under effective \u200bcontrol of Hamas.<\/p>\n

At least 1,580 Palestinians have been \u200bkilled \u2060in Israeli attacks in Gaza since the ceasefire, according to the territory\u2019s health officials, while Israel says four soldiers have been killed.<\/p>\n
