{"id":3665,"date":"2026-11-02T13:04:15","date_gmt":"2026-11-02T08:04:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3665"},"modified":"2026-11-02T13:04:15","modified_gmt":"2026-11-02T08:04:15","slug":"death-toll-in-sialkot-stampede-rises-as-injured-man-succumbs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3665","title":{"rendered":"Death toll in Sialkot stampede rises as injured man succumbs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>The death toll from a stampede at the mehndi ceremony of TikToker Ansar Jutt, popularly known as Mr Patlo, in Sialkot has risen to two, while 12 others were injured, police said on Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred at a cricket stadium on Daska Road on Sunday, where a large number of people had gathered after the TikToker invited the public to attend the ceremony, with prizes also scheduled to be distributed through a lucky draw.<\/p>\n<p>People from Sialkot and other cities across Punjab had arrived at the venue, but a stampede broke out before the event began, leaving 14 people injured.<\/p>\n<p>One victim, identified as Aqeel, died, while another injured man, Rehan, was shifted to Lahore, where he later succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The police have registered a case against more than 40 suspects, including Jutt, and arrested six people, while raids are being launched to arrest the TikToker.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in a video statement, Jutt denied responsibility for the incident, saying he was at a hospital when the stampede occurred.<\/p>\n<p>He claimed he had obtained a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the event but later cancelled it himself.<\/p>\n<p>He also appealed to the government, including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, for help, citing his own ill health and his father\u2019s deteriorating condition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The death toll from a stampede at the mehndi ceremony of TikToker Ansar Jutt, popularly known as Mr Patlo, in Sialkot has risen to two, while 12 others were injured, police said on Monday.
