{"id":3786,"date":"2026-11-04T10:03:48","date_gmt":"2026-11-04T05:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3786"},"modified":"2026-11-04T10:03:48","modified_gmt":"2026-11-04T05:03:48","slug":"trump-says-us-has-no-immediate-plans-for-fresh-strikes-on-iran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=3786","title":{"rendered":"Trump says US has no immediate plans for fresh strikes on Iran"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>US President Donald Trump has said Washington has no immediate plans to launch fresh strikes against Iran, while maintaining that American forces remain ready to act if necessary.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In an interview with the <em>Financial Times<\/em> on Tuesday, hours before polls closed in the US midterm elections, Trump described the situation with Iran as \u201cbrilliant\u201d, saying Washington was getting what it wanted from its current approach towards Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe seem to be getting everything we want,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Asked about indications from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that an attack could take place later this week, Trump said US forces were prepared for military action but suggested there might be no need for it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m ready, we\u2019re ready. We\u2019re locked and loaded if we need to go, but there may be no reason for it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also played down the prospect of describing the confrontation with Iran as a conventional war, citing previous US strikes on the country\u2019s nuclear infrastructure by B-2 bombers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not really in a war, because we hit them with the B-2 bombers and wiped out their nuclear potential incapacity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to Operation Epic Fury and subsequent military actions, Trump said the situation was unlike major conflicts such as the two World Wars or the ongoing war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>However, he acknowledged that Washington remained concerned about Iran\u2019s stockpile of around 1,000 pounds of enriched uranium, describing the material as \u201cnuclear dust\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said indirect negotiations with Tehran over the uranium stockpile were continuing, adding that he was not satisfied with the prospect of the material remaining buried beneath rubble from previous strikes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven though it\u2019s under hundreds of tons of rock, I would say that I\u2019m not happy that it will be there,\u201d he told the newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>He said the issue remained among the subjects being discussed in ongoing contacts with Iran.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>US President Donald Trump has said Washington has no immediate plans to launch fresh strikes against Iran, while maintaining that American forces remain ready to act if necessary.
