On Wednesday, \u200bthe door opened at the Vatican, where the legendary \u200cmusician had a private audience with <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link--external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/pope\/\">Pope Leo<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leo and Dylan, fellow travellers from the US Midwest, were seen meeting together in the pope\u2019s office \u200bat the ornate apostolic palace in photos shared by \u200bthe Vatican\u2019s newspaper on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The 71-year-old leader of \u2060the Catholic Church wore his customary white cassock. Dylan, \u200bthe acoustic songbird who went electric in the 1960s, wore a \u200bblack coat, black gloves and a black hooded sweatshirt.<\/p>\n<p>Rev. Antonio Spadaro, a Vatican official and Jesuit known for building relationships between the Church and \u200bfigures in the entertainment industry, said on Instagram that \u200bhe had helped arrange the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was hard not to feel the emotion \u200cof \u2060being part of an encounter that had a real sense of history about it, with the feeling that, at every step through the Apostolic Palace, absolutely anything could happen!\u201d he \u200bsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The Vatican press \u200boffice did \u2060not immediately comment on whether Leo and Dylan had discussed anything blowing in the wind.<\/p>\n<p>The Vatican\u2019s \u200bnewspaper said Leo had \u201creceived in private audience \u200bMr Robert \u2060Allen Zimmerman,\u201d using the name the musician was given at birth in Duluth, Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>Leo, originally from Chicago, is known as a \u2060Dylan \u200bfan.
