Iran said Saturday its military has grown \u201cstronger\u201d since the outset of its war with the United States, which has offered a $20 million reward for information about Tehran\u2019s nuclear programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mediators have been working to prevent any resumption of fighting after months of deadlock in the Middle East conflict, which began when the United States and Israel attacked Iran in late February.<\/p>\n

Tehran has sought to limit traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, which normally carries about one-fifth of global oil consumption.<\/p>\n

Iranian army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said Tehran retained control over the strategic waterway and that it would remain closed until its demands were met by the United States.<\/p>\n

He also said Iran\u2019s forces had grown stronger and more confident, state news agency IRNA reported on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, the Islamic Republic\u2019s armed forces\u2026 having gained experience from direct confrontation with the United States and the Israeli regime, are on higher alert and are stronger than they were at the beginning of the war,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey now possess greater motivation, commitment, and self-confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUnder the order of the Supreme Leader, the response of the armed forces will be immediate, effective, and without geographical limitations,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Reward offered<\/h3>\n

On Friday, the US military said it was offering a $20 million reward \u201cand possible relocation\u201d for information about Iran\u2019s nuclear programme.<\/p>\n

Rewards for Justice, a State Department programme, was seeking information on topics including \u201cfacilities, equipment, and associated personnel, such as those in the scientific community,\u201d US Central Command said on X.<\/p>\n

The programme was established in 1984 under the State Department\u2019s national security rewards programme to offer money for information that protects American lives and interests.<\/p>\n

In a statement about the reward, the State Department said Iran\u2019s \u201clack of compliance with the (International Atomic Energy Agency) on safeguards obligations has led to the agency\u2019s loss of \u2018continuity of knowledge\u2019 regarding Iran\u2019s production and inventory of key components like centrifuges.\u201d<\/p>\n

It did not specify what type of information would warrant a $20 million reward.<\/p>\n

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly said US forces have effectively obliterated Iran\u2019s nuclear programme.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we didn\u2019t hit Iran, you wouldn\u2019t have Israel today,\u201d Trump said Friday night in West Palm Beach, Florida.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they had nuclear, they would have used nuclear. They would have obliterated the Middle East.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/a>Dialogue<\/h3>\n

The president also said Iran \u2014 which he stressed has had its economy and military severely damaged over eight months of war \u2014 is eager to end the conflict.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re dealing with them now. They want to make a deal very badly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Trump called Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Friday to discuss efforts to end the war.<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s President Masoud Pezeshkian said this week his government was still trying to resolve the crisis through dialogue.<\/p>\n

Early on Saturday, Iran\u2019s Tasnim<\/em> news agency reported that two missiles had struck Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, adding there was no official information about any damage.<\/p>\n

Iranian state television reported two explosions on the island.<\/p>\n
