{"id":41063,"date":"2026-02-20T09:04:29","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T09:04:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=41063"},"modified":"2026-02-20T09:04:29","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T09:04:29","slug":"phf-interim-chief-vows-to-restore-hockeys-glory-lifts-ban-on-captain-ammad-butt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=41063","title":{"rendered":"PHF interim chief vows to restore hockey&#8217;s glory, lifts ban on captain Ammad Butt"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani has pledged to revive and strengthen the country\u2019s national game after assuming charge as the ad-hoc President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Friday, following his appointment, Wani assured stakeholders of a comprehensive plan aimed at stabilising the federation, rebuilding trust and revamping team management to restore Pakistan\u2019s lost glory in international hockey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the newly appointed ad-hoc President of PHF, I assure stakeholders of our commitment to revive and strengthen hockey in Pakistan,\u201d he said, adding that immediate steps were being taken to address pressing organisational and administrative issues.<\/p>\n<p>Read: Mohsin Naqvi meets national hockey team, assures support &#8216;until turmoil ends&#8217; after Australia fiasco<\/p>\n<p>He said the short-term focus would remain on stabilising the federation\u2019s affairs, while a medium-term roadmap would include developing a clear strategic vision, enhancing coaching and training structures and fostering institutional coordination among relevant bodies.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised the need for improved governance and efficient resource management, noting that efforts would be made to forge partnerships with the private sector to provide better support to players and the national setup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur players should focus on training and matches, while we handle the rest,\u201d he remarked, reiterating that athlete welfare and performance would remain at the center of reforms.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting institutional support for the revival of the sport, Wani said all concerned organisations were aligned to bring back the glory of Pakistan\u2019s national game.
