We’re bold. We’re challenging. We’re bringing the vibe. We’re changing the game,” the franchise said in a statement accompanying the video. The teaser ended with the words “To be continued”, confirming that the official team logo and further branding details will be revealed in the coming days.

The rebrand follows a period of major change for the franchise. Previously operating as Multan Sultans, the team was put up for sale after former owner Ali Tareen chose not to renew the ownership agreement following PSL season 10.

In the interim, the Pakistan Cricket Board assumed temporary control of the franchise. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi had said the board would oversee operations for the upcoming season while a long-term solution was explored.

After successfully auctioning two new PSL teams — Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen and Sialkot Stallionz — the PCB also placed the former Multan franchise back on the market. Walee Technologies eventually emerged as the winning bidder following a competitive auction process, with CD Venturers submitting the second-highest bid before pulling out.

Under PSL regulations, new owners are granted the right to rebrand their franchise. Walee Technologies’ owner, Ahsan Tahir, exercised that option, choosing to align the team’s identity with Rawalpindi and its street-smart culture.

With a new name, ownership and branding, Pindiz will look to reset expectations and make an immediate impact when PSL 11 gets under way later this year.

The Rawalpindi-based franchise for the Pakistan Super League has been officially renamed Pindiz, signalling a fresh start for the side ahead of PSL 11, scheduled to run from 26 March to 3 May.
