A protest demonstration was staged at Numaish Chowrangi on Thursday against Israeli aggression on Lebanon, despite the recent Iran-US ceasefire brokered by Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The rally, organised on an emergency call by representative organisations of the Shia community, drew a large number of participants, including religious scholars, political activists, women, youth and children.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering, speakers criticised US President Donald Trump, alleging that he failed to honour the spirit of the ceasefire. They referred to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent statement indicating that a ceasefire would be observed across all fronts in the region, including Lebanon, but claimed that the US leadership had backtracked on this understanding within 24 hours.<\/p>\n

The speakers further alleged that the US had undermined Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and pointed to reported threats of imposing tariffs on countries trading with Iran as evidence of Washington’s “hostile intent.”<\/p>\n

Condemning Israeli strikes on Lebanon, the speakers said that hundreds of civilians, including women and children, had been killed in the ongoing bombardment. They described the attacks as a continuation of Israel’s “aggressive and unlawful conduct” in the region.<\/p>\n

The participants warned that unless a comprehensive ceasefire is enforced across all fronts, tensions in the region would escalate further, holding the US and Israel responsible for any consequences.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
