{"id":48343,"date":"2026-04-19T12:00:27","date_gmt":"2026-04-19T12:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=48343"},"modified":"2026-04-19T12:00:27","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T12:00:27","slug":"khalilur-rehman-qamars-son-says-fathers-controversies-have-not-affected-his-acting-career","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=48343","title":{"rendered":"Khalilur Rehman Qamar&#8217;s son says father&#8217;s controversies have not affected his acting career"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Actor Durrab Khalil, son of screenwriter and director Khalilur Rehman Qamar,\u00a0featured on Something Haute to discuss his father\u2019s controversies and his personal acting journey.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if the controversies surrounding Qamar have\u00a0affected his own journey in the entertainment industry, Khalil said, \u201cWhen I first started, there were people in the industry who already knew about this and it didn\u2019t really affect me,&#8221; adding, &#8220;Of course people have problems but it doesn\u2019t really bother me or worry me that something negative will happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further, the actor said that he believes his father and his personal career are two separate entities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t touch on these topics. I don\u2019t discuss these things,&#8221; Khalil said. He added, &#8220;There are a lot of things about my father I like a lot; he is a very good writer, he writes really good dialogue,&#8221; stating that &#8220;I think he\u2019s the best.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Khalil noted, however, &#8220;When he does something besides this, I don\u2019t really talk to him about it because If I say something negative to him, it\u2019s disrespectful and wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actor also said\u00a0that he avoids reading comments on the topic. \u201cWhy would I do this? He has his own profession in which he is doing well. I have nothing to do with his interactions. I also have to focus on my own work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actor concluded by saying that people loves Qamar, saying\u00a0&#8220;I think people still love him and want to work with him but some people do talk and of course it hurts, so he\u2019s stopped a little.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He noted that to him, Qamar is not how he is on television. &#8220;He is a different guy. He is a very sweet guy. He is a cute person,&#8221; Khalil said.\u00a0&#8220;I know some people probably have problems with him and I am not saying they are wrong. Everyone is open to their own opinion,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Qamar is known for writing hit dramas Tum Meray Pass Ho (2019) and the more recent Main Manto Nahi Hoon (2025)\u00a0which features Khalil in the role of Mikaal.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, the screenwriter has been involved in controversies due to his opinion regarding women, feminism, and gender roles. Qamar&#8217;s most known controversy involved a live television debate with activist Marvi Sirmed in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Moving to discuss his own journey in acting, Khalil said he is doing really well.
