{"id":48758,"date":"2026-04-22T18:04:31","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T18:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=48758"},"modified":"2026-04-22T18:04:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T18:04:31","slug":"world-cup-last-minute-ticket-sales-phase-re-opens-50-days-from-kick-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=48758","title":{"rendered":"World Cup last-minute ticket sales phase re-opens 50 days from kick-off"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>With 50 days remaining until the start of the 2026 World Cup, FIFA&#8217;s last-minute sales phase re-opens on Wednesday with tickets for \u200ball 104 matches available on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n<p>FIFA says \u200cmore than five million tickets have already been sold, out of an expected total of just over 6m for the tournament, which begins on June 11 \u200bacross the United States, Mexico and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At the start of \u200bsale, tickets will be available across categories 1 to 3 \u2060and the front-row seat categories, depending on the match,&#8221; FIFA said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Along \u200bwith this set of tickets, additional tickets will continue to be released \u200bto the public on an ongoing basis up until the final on Sunday, 19 July (subject to availability).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There has been much criticism over ticket prices, with a group of US \u200blawmakers last month calling on FIFA to lower the cost, saying \u200bthat the use of dynamic pricing has turned the World Cup into an exclusionary \u200centerprise \u2060at the expense of fans.<\/p>\n<p>Read More: FIFA World Cup halftime show is coming in 2026, but one big detail is still missing<\/p>\n<p>In December, FIFA introduced a small number of $60 &#8220;Supporter Entry Tier&#8221; tickets, aiming to make the World Cup more affordable for fans of qualified teams. The cheaper tickets will make up 10% of \u200bParticipating Member Associations&#8217; (PMAs) \u200ballocations.<\/p>\n<p>FIFA also says \u2060variable pricing is being used, where ticket prices may be adjusted based on a review of demand and \u200bavailability, rather than dynamic pricing, which automatically modifies ticket \u200bprices.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2060variable pricing method was used for the opening two phases of sales \u2014\u00a0Visa presale draw and Early draw.
