Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will head back to Pakistan on Sunday after visiting Oman, state media reported late on Saturday night, having just left Islamabad earlier in the day.<\/p>\n

The IRNA news agency, citing the foreign ministry, reported that Araghchi “is scheduled to visit Pakistan again after completing his trip to Oman and before travelling to Russia”.<\/p>\n

Part of his delegation had returned to Tehran, it added, “to consult and obtain the necessary instructions on issues related to ending the war, and is scheduled to rejoin Araghchi in Islamabad on Sunday night”.<\/p>\n

He earlier said on X that Iran shared a \u201cworkable framework\u201d with Pakistan aimed at permanently ending the US war.<\/p>\n

In a post on\u00a0X following a visit to Pakistan, Araghchi said discussions focused on efforts to restore stability in the region and end the conflict.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe shared Iran\u2019s position concerning a workable framework to permanently end the war on Iran,\u201d he said, without providing further details.<\/p>\n

Araghchi described the trip as \u201cvery fruitful\u201d, praising Pakistan\u2019s role in facilitating dialogue and its \u201cbrotherly efforts\u201d to help bring peace back to the region.<\/p>\n

He also expressed scepticism about Washington\u2019s intentions.<\/p>\n

Pakistan has been acting as an intermediary between Tehran and Washington amid ongoing tensions following recent military escalation.<\/p>\n

Araghchi arrived in Pakistan late on Friday and met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Saturday, amid efforts to revive stalled US-Iran peace talks to end their eight-week war.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The first round was held in Islamabad two weeks ago but failed to reach an agreement to end the conflict that began on February\u00a028 and engulfed the entire Middle East. Those talks came after Pakistan brokered a two-week ceasefire on April 8, which was later extended by US President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Trump on Saturday said that he had\u00a0cancelled a planned trip to Pakistan by special envoy Steve Witkoff and adviser Jared Kushner.<\/p>\n

“I’ve told my people a little while ago they were getting ready to leave, and I said, ‘Nope, you’re not making an 18 hour flight to go there. We have all the cards. They can call us anytime they want, but you’re not going to be making any more 18 hour flights to sit around talking about nothing’,” Trump told Fox News via phone.<\/p>\n

Iran has refused to hold direct talks with the US and said observations would be conveyed to Pakistan.<\/p>\n
