Foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada and Egypt on Monday discussed the latest developments in the regional situation and emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for peace during separate telephone calls with Deputy Prime Minister and FM\u00a0Ishaq Dar on Monday.<\/p>\n

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), FM Dar spoke with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, in the evening to exchange views on recent regional developments.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Egyptian foreign minister appreciated Dar\u2019s efforts and Pakistan\u2019s continued role in advancing dialogue and diplomatic engagement. He also apprised Dar of his outreach with various regional and international counterparts in this regard,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

It added that both sides highlighted the importance of sustained engagement to support peace and stability in the region and beyond.<\/p>\n

DPM\/FM Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 spoke this evening with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty @MFAEgOfficial, to exchange views on latest developments in the regional situation.<\/p>\n

FM Dar also spoke with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper earlier in the evening, during which they discussed recent developments in the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe UK foreign secretary appreciated Pakistan\u2019s facilitation and continued efforts to promote dialogue and diplomacy,\u201d read the statement.<\/p>\n

It further added that both sides underscored the importance of sustained engagement for peace and stability in the region and beyond, and agreed to remain in contact.<\/p>\n

According to the ministry, FM Dar also held a call with Canadian FM Anita Anand, and both discussed the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability.<\/p>\n

\u201cFM Dar reiterated Pakistan\u2019s continued commitment to dialogue and diplomacy,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

The ministry further said that the two leaders\u00a0reviewed bilateral relations, including cooperation in trade, agriculture, and other sectors, and emphasised the importance of high-level exchanges to further strengthen Pakistan-Canada ties.<\/p>\n

FM Dar has received unprecedented international recognition for his diplomatic leadership, as Pakistan positioned itself at the centre of high-stakes mediation efforts during the escalating Iran-US-Israel crisis.<\/p>\n

Over the past weeks, senior officials and influential voices from more than ten countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, the US, China, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, and Uzbekistan, have publicly acknowledged Dar’s role in facilitating ceasefire negotiations.<\/p>\n

Pakistan emerged as a central facilitator in the sensitive diplomatic track, positioning itself as an \u201chonest broker\u201d amid sharply polarised positions between Washington and Tehran.<\/p>\n

After 40 days of airstrikes, US and Iranian negotiators opened talks in Islamabad earlier this month, again focused on the familiar trade\u2011off of nuclear restrictions for economic relief.<\/p>\n

When American and Iranian negotiators met in Islamabad, the US proposed a 20-year suspension of all Iranian nuclear activity, while Iran suggested a halt of three to five years, according to people familiar with the proposals.<\/p>\n

The second round of talks did not yield any results as, a day earlier, Iranian FM Araghchi visited Islamabad. It was his second visit in two days.
