{"id":5446,"date":"2025-04-28T18:04:38","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T18:04:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=5446"},"modified":"2025-04-28T18:04:38","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T18:04:38","slug":"pti-calls-for-all-parties-conference-over-indias-threats-after-pahalgam-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipp-news.com\/?p=5446","title":{"rendered":"PTI calls for all parties conference over India&#8217;s threats after Pahalgam attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday called on the federal government to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) in response to India&#8217;s recent threats following the deadly Pahalgam attack.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a Senate session on Monday, PTI Senator Ali Zafar said, \u201cPeople know the script of Modi&#8217;s drama very well,\u201d adding that India could not unilaterally suspend the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT).<\/p>\n<p>Terming the Indian allegations against Pakistan regarding the Pahalgam attack\u00a0as &#8220;baseless,&#8221; Zafar accused Prime Minister Modi of &#8220;leading India towards destruction.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The April 22 attack sparked outrage in India, with its government blaming Pakistan \u2014 a claim Islamabad strongly denied, calling it a &#8220;false flag operation.&#8221; In response to the allegations and mounting pressure, India announced its unilateral suspension of the six-decade-old Indus Waters Treaty, escalating tensions further.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the Modi-led government diverts even a drop of Pakistan\u2019s water, it will be considered an enemy attack,\u201d Zafar warned during his remarks.<\/p>\n<p>Leader of the Opposition in the Senate\u00a0Senator Shibli Faraz\u00a0also took the floor, reinforcing the call for national unity. \u201cWe are united when it comes to defending Pakistan,&#8221; he said, stressing that the country faces both internal and external challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Faraz lambasted New Delhi for attempting to destabilise Pakistan and pushing an aggressive anti-Pakistan narrative. He said India\u2019s threats over water could not be taken as \u201cpolitical statements\u201d but must be treated as \u201cacts of war,\u201d adding that the enemy was actively planning a lethal attack on Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui criticised India&#8217;s actions and narrative-building following the Pahalgam incident.<\/p>\n<p>He said the international community had rejected India\u2019s \u201cfalse claims and propaganda\u201d against Pakistan. &#8220;The world did not support India&#8217;s stance or its fabrications. Their propaganda has been exposed,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting procedural irregularities, Siddiqui questioned how attackers could cross the heavily fenced Line of Control (LoC) undetected.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that an FIR for the attack was registered immediately and accusations were levelled against Pakistan even before an investigation had begun. &#8220;It appears the FIR was lodged first and the incident happened later,&#8221; he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>He also condemned India&#8217;s attempt to unilaterally withdraw from the Indus Waters Treaty, reminding the Senate that it was an internationally recognised agreement, backed by the World Bank.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No country can unilaterally withdraw from the treaty.
