Bobby succumbed to a deadly virus after choosing to save fellow firefighter Chimney (Kenneth Choi) by giving him the only available antidote.<\/p>\n<p>After tearful goodbyes to his wife, LAPD Sergeant Athena Grant (Angela Bassett), and surrogate son Buck (Oliver Stark), Bobby died while praying behind protective glass.<\/p>\n<p>The episode, titled \u201cThe Last Alarm,\u201d opens with an eight-year-old flashback showing Bobby and his crew responding to a house fire. Though they manage to save the mother, Leah, they tragically fail to rescue her infant son, Mika.<\/p>\n<p>In the present, Athena struggles to plan Bobby\u2019s funeral while waiting for the department to release his body. Tensions rise when she discovers that Chimney has been persistently calling about the delay, prompting a confrontation. Athena fears that once Bobby is buried, people will begin to move on \u2014 something she\u2019s not ready to do.<\/p>\n<p>Athena unexpectedly crosses paths with Leah, who now believes Mika was kidnapped during the fire and is still alive. Though initially hesitant, Athena reopens the case to honor Bobby\u2019s memory. After exhuming Mika\u2019s grave and conducting a DNA test on a boy Leah suspects is her son, it\u2019s confirmed the child is not Mika, leaving Leah devastated.<\/p>\n<p>The episode closes with Bobby\u2019s funeral, attended by the entire Station 118 crew, including Eddie (Ryan Guzman), who returns for the occasion.
