Reflecting on their time working on Top Gun, he said, \u201cYou just see what a great actor, charismatic guy he was&#8230; he became Iceman.\u201d He described Kilmer\u2019s performance in Top Gun: Maverick as \u201cvery special\u201d and praised his ability to create emotional depth with minimal dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>On working with Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men, Cruise detailed the actor\u2019s craft during the iconic courtroom scene. \u201cHe\u2019s like a crooner that knows how to carve up a monologue&#8230; he knows what he\u2019s doing,\u201d said Cruise, highlighting Nicholson\u2019s command of voice, posture, and lens awareness.<\/p>\n<p>The actor also mentioned Marlon Brando\u2019s performance in The Godfather, noting how a single take involving a cat helped define the role. \u201cIt\u2019s not just by chance. You work towards lightning in a bottle,\u201d Cruise remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Cruise is scheduled to speak at a BFI In Conversation event on Sunday, with the BFI Fellowship being awarded on Monday.
