Described by Chestnut as \u201cdoc-detectives,\u201d the characters work both inside and outside the hospital to uncover causes of rare illnesses.<\/p>\n<p>The season\u2019s final episodes introduced Moriarty as the figure behind Sherlock Holmes\u2019 presumed death, a storyline that added intensity and lasting consequences for the clinic\u2019s staff. \u201cBy the end, every member of Watson\u2019s team is permanently changed,\u201d said executive producer Craig Sweeny. \u201cAnd not all the doctors make it to Season 2 as part of the group.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although a specific premiere date has not been announced, CBS has placed Watson in its upcoming Sunday night slot at 10 p.m., following the new Yellowstone spinoff Y: Marshals.<\/p>\n<p>Speculation continues around which cast members will return, though Chestnut is expected to reprise his lead role.
