The materials, released on May 29, 2025, suggest key evidence was overlooked during the original trial, which led to Tory\u2019s 10-year prison sentence.<\/p>\n

One of the most significant pieces of evidence is testimony from Sean Kelly, the sole independent eyewitness. Kelly claims that he saw a woman\u2014identified as Kelsey\u2014exit a vehicle and engage in a violent confrontation with Megan, which escalated into a fight. According to Kelly, it was Kelsey who fired the shots into the car, not Tory. This claim contradicts the official narrative, which led to Lanez’s conviction for the shooting. Kelly’s testimony was presented in court, but it did not sway the jury, which convicted Tory of first-degree assault and related charges.<\/p>\n

Tory\u2019s team argues that this new evidence challenges the prosecution’s version of events, claiming that physical evidence and the timeline of the incident do not align with the conviction. In addition to Kelly’s testimony, Tory’s bodyguard, JauQuan Smith, provided a statement about breaking up the fight but was unable to confirm who fired the gun.
