The incident occurred near Malir’s RCD Ground when a truck carrying cement bags struck 59-year-old Baqar Saeed, a local milk delivery worker, killing him on the spot, Express News reported.
Eyewitnesses said the truck was travelling at high speed from Kala Board and the driver appeared to be operating the vehicle recklessly. Some locals claimed he was under the influence of drugs.
The driver attempted to flee but was caught and beaten by residents before being handed over to police. The truck was later set ablaze by angry bystanders.
Saeed’s motorcycle was destroyed in the collision. The injured driver, identified as Waris, was taken to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.

Police used a crane to clear the burnt truck and restore traffic. An investigation is underway, and legal action against the driver is being pursued, said SHO Saudabad Atiq-ur-Rehman.
Earlier this year, a motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a water tanker in Karachi’s Saadi Town, local police said.
According to officials, the motorcyclist, identified as Tanveer, died at the scene. His body was transferred to a nearby hospital for legal formalities.
The driver of the water tanker fled immediately after the accident. Police confirmed an investigation is underway to locate the suspect.
The accident adds to a growing list of deadly road mishaps in Karachi. Authorities say the city has seen a sharp rise in traffic fatalities this year.
