And this is only the beginning of the revolution we are witnessing. I have reminded you several times that, for the first time in history, mankind’s unique selling proposition (USP), our intelligence, is facing serious competition from the exponential growth of AI. While the risks are no longer understated, the opportunities this presents should not be overlooked. Due to our limited brain plasticity, we have struggled to go beyond a certain level of progress. But with the help of AI, we can break through this ceiling and ascend further than ever before.
For a generation like mine, which grew up with old, messy gas guzzlers, watching television series and fantasising about smart cars that could talk back, a fully automated traffic and transportation system still feels like elusive science fiction. But it is coming. Better and more optimised living and working spaces? All possible. Mankind can now dream of conquering other planets, colonising space, and creating living spaces beneath the waters that cover two-thirds of our planet.
Speaking of the dream of making humanity a multiplanetary species, somebody recently informed me of the method behind the apparent madness of Elon Musk’s business ventures. I was told he is investing in enterprises that could help take and sustain life on Mars. Consider his Boring Company. Why else would he create a tunnelling business unless it were to be used on Mars, where mankind might have to adapt to a subterranean existence due to the lack of a breathable atmosphere?
Likewise, battery-operated cars, since the planet lacks fossil fuels, as far as we know. Similarly, xAI will operate the complex infrastructure, Neuralink will keep minds connected, SpaceX will transport us there, and Starlink will maintain a link to Earth.
The only problem is, he hasn’t left yet, and does not seem to realise that he does not need to destroy life on this planet in order to take it to another one. Consider his chaotic takeover of Twitter (which now exists as a darker shadow of its former self), his support for far-right parties in Europe, his DOGE chainsaw antics, and now his clumsy attempts to bring down President Trump by relitigating the Epstein case and launching a new political party.
Perhaps, if he did leave for Mars, the pain in his body, which has required multiple surgeries, would finally stop. And perhaps, so would his desire to inflict pain on others. There is no law on Mars, so maybe he could freely transfer his consciousness into one of his dozen or more clones.
My assumption is that, at least during its honeymoon period (ten to twenty years, maybe even the full lifespan of our current generations), AI will only assist humanity in inventing a better future. We may witness innovations such as food replicators like those in Star Trek, Von Neumann probes replacing drones, better methods of generating and storing energy, and cures for diseases such as AIDS and cancer. I am especially emotionally invested in a cure for cancer, as two of my loved ones, my mother, a fortnight ago, and her brother, my uncle, a year ago, have been diagnosed with the disease and are now undergoing lengthy, less-than-perfect treatment.
While there is hope for a better future, the present reality is deeply troubling. Several precious lives have been lost during heavy downpours that have resulted in devastating floods in Texas and Punjab. The ruthless wars in Gaza, Sudan, and Ukraine continue unabated.
The videogame-like normalisation of televised cruelty in Gaza threatens to desensitise people to the inhumanity of war elsewhere. This may become a serious problem in a world where the rich are getting richer, and the poor only poorer. As we struggle to find the vocabulary to describe what is happening in Gaza, the Israeli state’s atrocities evoke the ghosts of the Holocaust. I have said many times that, while card-carrying racists like Nick Fuentes denied the Holocaust by claiming it could not be done, Benjamin Netanyahu said, “hold my drink” and set about reproducing it.
But if you think Israel’s cruelty, or Elon’s campaign against an elected US President, pose the most serious threats, pray think again. It is not Elon who is orchestrating the fall of President Trump, nor is he the sole sponsor of the far right’s rise in the West. Is it not curious that, just as India becomes increasingly distressed, angered by Trump for revealing its covert appeals to broker a ceasefire with Pakistan during ongoing trade negotiations, the entire American media ecosystem suddenly becomes obsessed with the Epstein case and tries to link the POTUS to it?
Clearly an influence campaign aimed at pressuring the US government, it also reveals a degree of estrangement between the intelligence communities of India and Israel, as various India-backed influencers have directly implicated Mossad in Jeffrey Epstein’s assassination.
In this space, I have already and repeatedly demonstrated how India’s far-right ruling elite has emerged as a key sponsor of the Western far right. The reason EU DisinfoLab could expose the Srivastava Group’s influence operations was because India used it to bring far-right EU MEPs to Kashmir, at a time when no country was ready to normalise the abolition of Articles 370 and 35A. Likewise, alt-right ideologues routinely travel to India and reside in temples and ashrams.
By linking and appropriating the pre-Christian and pre-Islamic pagan cultures across the globe, Indian far-right Hindus appear to be fuelling a hyper-nationalist movement to overthrow the dominance of Abrahamic faiths in the West and the Arab world, as well as the ruling elites of those regions. I have already told you about the Nazi influence on Hindutva movements, shaped by figures like Hitler’s priestess Savitri Devi Mukherji (born Maximiani Julia Portas). In the past, the RSS was considered the standard-bearer of such causes. But with the growing rift between Modi’s BJP and RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat, evident in Bhagwat’s recent speeches criticising Hitler, it is clear that the torch, if you can call it that, has been seized by Modi and his lieutenants.
These two broken places, Israel and India, are now attempting to do to others what was once done to them. India wants to colonise the world. Israel wants to recreate the Holocaust.
If you want to see the damage this is doing to the world, just observe the rise of superstition in the age of technology. To validate this point, go to OpenAI’s GPT store and look at the trending list. At the number one spot is Astrology Birth Chart GPT. What a breathtaking use of AI.
