The case was heard by a single-member bench comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali. At the outset of the hearing, counsels for the petitioners, the Additional Advocate General, Deputy Attorney General, and the court-appointed focal person appeared before the bench.
The petitioners’ lawyers argued that close relatives of their clients had been picked up by unidentified individuals and remain missing, with no information available regarding their whereabouts.
Taking note of the matter, the court issued notices to the federal and provincial governments as well as other concerned parties, directing them to submit their replies.
During proceedings, the Additional Advocate General informed the court that one of the individuals mentioned in a petition is currently lodged in Central Jail and had been arrested by the police. Based on this information, the court disposed of that particular petition.
