Gold continues downward trend

Gold prices fell for a third straight day on Wednesday in both international and domestic markets, while silver gained.

In the international bullion market, gold slipped by $2 per ounce to $3,354. The decline was mirrored in local markets, where 24-karat gold dropped Rs200 per tola to Rs358,100, according to rates released by the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association.

Prices for 10 grams of 24-karat gold also fell, decreasing by Rs171 to Rs307,013.

Conversely, silver prices recorded gains, with per tola silver rising Rs59 to Rs4,072 and 10-gram silver increasing Rs51 to Rs3,491.

Spot gold gained 0.6% to $3,363.61 per ounce by 1026 GMT. U.S. gold futures for December delivery rose 0.5% to $3,414.10.

Spot silver rose 1.7% to $38.53 per ounce, platinum was up 0.7% at $1,345.89 and palladium gained 0.5% to $1,135.45.
