Pakistan and India are set to renew their rivalry in hockey as their junior teams face off on October 14 in Malaysia during the Sultan of Johor Hockey Cup.

The prestigious tournament will take place at the Taman Daya Hockey Stadium in Johor Bahru from October 11 to 18, featuring six top international teams — Pakistan, Australia, England, India, Malaysia, and New Zealand.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation is expected to announce the national junior squad for the event later today. The tournament will serve as a key preparation platform for young players ahead of future international competitions.

Pakistan will begin their campaign against hosts Malaysia on the opening day, October 11, before facing England on October 12. After a day’s rest, the Green Shirts will take on arch-rivals India on October 14 — a fixture that always draws immense excitement from fans of both nations.

Following the high-voltage encounter against India, Pakistan will meet New Zealand on October 15 and wrap up their group-stage matches against Australia on October 17. The final and classification matches will be played on October 18.

Great Britain won last year’s Sultan of Johor Cup by defeating Australia in the final, clinching their fourth title victory in the tournament’s history.
